How did Gateways prepare you for your future?

Gateways prepared me for my future in a couple ways, especially through teaching me how to learn at a med school level (which was very different for me than undergrad) and getting me involved with underserved populations (which has become an even bigger part of my life now than ever before) :)

What advice do you have for the current/future students of Gateways?

My advice to Gateways students would be to try to use your time in the program to figure out how you learn most effectively, and how you can schedule at least a little free time into each day. Making a sustainable schedule was something that was a challenge for me (and honestly I’m still figuring it out), but working on it has helped mitigate a lot of the stress of an overworked day!

Keep the lectures that you find most helpful!! I still look back on a lot of mine when I’m relearning topics- shout out to immunology!
