Biography
"How did Gateways prepare you for your future?"
My year in the Gateways program taught me how to study as an adult and lifelong learner. It provided the space to experiment with different study techniques and find what worked best as I navigated a rigorous curriculum. Challenging myself through this program gave me the confidence and experience I needed to succeed in medical school.
"What advice do you have for current/future Gateways Master of Medical Sciences students?"
Stay connected with the people and activities that bring you joy! These are the aspects of your personality that set you apart and should shine through in your application, regardless of the career you choose.
"Any other comments?"
This program, and medical school in general, is supposed to be hard, but that doesn’t mean you have to do it alone. One of the most special parts of the Gateways program is the people. I’ve never felt more supported by my peers, mentors, and advisors than I did in this program. They are always willing to help and continue to be some of my biggest cheerleaders.
